Dr. Shah is a Consultant Lung Transplant Pulmonologist and Critical Care specialist at Mayo Clinic, Florida, specializing in taking care of patients with end-stage lung disease, Lung Transplant and Larynx-Trachea Transplant. She served as the Medical Director for Larynx-Trachea Transplant Program and Interim Medical Director for the Lung Transplant Program at Mayo Clinic, Arizona.

Dr. Shah is Fellow College of Chest Physicians and an MBA from Isenberg School of Management, University of Massachusetts.

Dr. Shah has been recognized as an esteemed educator and serves as a faculty at Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine at Arizona Campus.

Focus areas

  • Lung Transplant: Specific areas of interest include Lung Transplant acute cellular rejection, Antibody mediated rejection, Bronchiolitis Obliterans, Lung Transplant infection. Dr. Shah collaborates with Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery for management of Lung Transplant patients.
  • Larynx-Trachea Transplant: Dr. Shah is interested in Vascularized Composite Allo-transplantation and has been collaborating with Division of Ear, Nose and Throat to start the first Larynx-Trachea Transplant Program in Mayo Clinic, Arizona.
  • Interstitial Lung Disease: Dr. Shah is interested in Pulmonary Fibrosis, Interstitial Lung Disease secondary to connective tissue disease and Hypersensitivity Pneumonitis. She believes in team approach for management of these critically sick patients and collaborates with Division of Rheumatology, Interventional Pulmonary and Cardiothoracic Surgery to provide them the optimal care.
