Slide consultation

  • Send a consultation request form and preliminary pathology report with the slides.
  • Send a paraffin block if needed for the performance of additional stains.
  • Send a clinical history if possible.
  • Include photocopy of front and back of patient's insurance card, as Mayo Clinic directly bills contracted payers and government payers.
  • Ask about client billing.
  • Expect a turnaround time of 24 hours and an additional one to three days for special stains.
